Recovery doesn’t happen in a vacuum.
Treatment may be one part of the process, but individuals and families are often left trying to figure out everything that happens before, between, and after formal treatment.
Breakwater helps bridge that gap.
We provide practical, nonclinical support focused on clarity, accountability, recovery resources, and follow-through. When clinical or medical services are needed, we work alongside qualified professionals rather than attempting to replace them.
Our goal is simple: help you understand the next step and make it easier to follow through on it.
Meet the Founder
Jason Favaloro is the founder of Breakwater Recovery Navigation. His experience includes recovery coaching, behavioral-health outreach and admissions, professional intervention training, and operating men’s and women’s recovery residences on Massachusetts’ North Shore.
As someone in long-term recovery himself, Jason understands both the formal recovery system and the challenges individuals and families face outside of treatment.
Breakwater was created to help bridge that gap — providing practical guidance, accountability, and support when people aren’t sure what comes next.

Parents, spouses, siblings, and loved ones dealing with substance use, relapse, treatment decisions, or uncertainty about how to help.
People looking for structure, accountability, resources, and practical support while making significant changes in their lives.
Individuals and families trying to create a realistic plan following detox, residential treatment, PHP, outpatient care, or another structured setting.
Therapists, physicians, attorneys, treatment professionals, and other community partners who encounter individuals or families needing additional nonclinical recovery navigation and support.
Breakwater provides nonclinical recovery navigation and support.
We do not diagnose behavioral-health conditions, provide psychotherapy, conduct clinical assessments, prescribe treatment, or replace licensed medical or behavioral-health professionals.
When clinical or medical care is appropriate, we help individuals and families connect with qualified providers.
Breakwater does not accept payment from treatment programs in exchange for client referrals.
Our recommendations are based on the individual’s circumstances and available options—not financial relationships with providers.
